brand boo-boo's

Your brand is your company's DNA. We create brands and heal outdated ones. When is the last time you checked your brand? Here's a short checklist of questions to gadge the health of your brand.

• Is your marketing consistent?

• Does your website have the same feel as your letterhead?

• Is your email marketing sending the same vibe as your social media campaign?

• Do you know your logo PMS colors or the typeface used in your correspondence?

• Is your email signature line accurate and effective?

• Do you have an email signature?

• Is the voice of your company consistent in your blog, on your facebook page and in your twitter stream?

Have we lost you? It's time for a brand check-up. Don't worry, we have pretty band aids and it'll only hurt for a second.

May Showers

Field No.11, May 2010

Podcamp Nashville Ninjas

The weekend of May 1, 2010 was devastating for Nashville and the surrounding areas. Over 18 inches of rain fell in 48 hours, causing flash flooding, land slides, shut down interstates and claimed the lives of at least 24 people in Tennessee.

We were unharmed. Matthew, Courtenay, our parents and family members had absolutely no damage to our properties and for that, we are extremely thankful. But our city is hurting. We are asking you to help by donating to the Middle TN Red Cross if you don't live here. If you do live here, please volunteer through Hands On Nashville. The residents of Nashville and our little town of Franklin have done so much for people in need, but we have a long way to go.

The local media has been tremendous! The use of social media tools like Twitter and Facebook, along with the local blogging community, have really been the driving force behind rebuilding this city. We're so proud to be a small business in Middle Tennessee and appreciate our friends, family and clients. Please reach out to those less fortunate and spread the word in your community that we still need help. Oh, and on a lighter note... Happy Birthday Matthew!

Finding Your Voice Has Never Been Easier.
A Brand isn't a logo or a color or a tagline. It's a purposeful experience for your target audience that's repetitive, frequent and consistent for the life of your business. Using straightforward, honest and intelligent content to carry your messages builds brand loyalty, strengthens your tribe & improves your bottom line.

Regardless of size, companies need to effectively communicate their brand's strength by promoting people-centered narratives and more engaging experiences. Primarily Rye guides you past the maze and helps grow your brand. It's what we do best. We deliver tangible results to our clients by listening, crafting your mesage and delivering it to the right audience.

Podcamp Nashville Ninjas

PodCamp Nashville was an amazing day filled with quality networking, serious digital learning, free beer and smashing Karaoke. Okay, entertaining Karaoke at best. This was the 4th year for PodCamp in Nashville and with over 500 attendees, it was the largest yet! Courtenay was delighted to be a small part of the organizing efforts and gave a session on NETiquette, combining basic networking tips while building your digital community. Check out a condensed version (she likes to talk….) on the home page.

Nashville is gaining quite the reputation as a tech town, and the presenters as well as the attendees of this year's PodCamp only helped further this rep. We learned about blogging, social media (the good, bad and the ugly), intellectual property, search engine optimization, web user experience and tons more. Check out an actual PodCast (appropriate for PodCamp, don't you think?) that highlights a couple of the sessions, here.

If you missed out on PodCamp, don't you fret! BarCamp is coming this fall and you know we will be all over it.

Prime Recognition

AIGA nashville amd Logo Lounge

Everyone likes to be recognized. But recognized twice in the first 3 weeks of the new year?! 2010 has started strong for Primarily Rye with two major 'tip-of-the-hats' from industry leading organizations, in addition to our work being featured in a Island Def Jam / Mercury Records video by Jessie James titled, My Cowboy. If you promise not get distracted, you can see our work prominently being displayed here.

The major design publication and online database for brands & identities, Logolounge has published our work in their new book, "Logolounge Master Library Vol. 1, Initials & Crests." The book was released in the first week of February and it sure looks good on our shelf. Learn more about Logolounge here or buy the book through Amazon here.

The Nashville Chapter of AIGA, the leading professional association for designers, has requested that our work be included in the 2009 Annual Report coming out in February. It's a state of the union for the Nashville Chapter, covering chapter growth (over 300+ members), financials and a look back at design in 2009. AIGA Nashville represents some of the top creative talent in Middle Tennessee and has brought world renowned creative speakers to Nashville, impacted programing and strengthening the industry of design and creative services. The organization speaks for design and designers and we are honored to be asked to include our work. Learn more about AIGA Nashville here.
